My three 🌶️🌶️🌶️ hot take from yesterday’s /earlymorningcrew Leave channels open for everybody, make them indexable on Google so anyone asking a question on the internet can find an answer on Warpcast (like Reddit) Get rid of the $5 entry fee to make onboarding easier Buy/integrate Hypersub to empower channel owners to charge for / easily manage write access More discovery and easier moderation ftw Timestamped link to listen: https://tavern.fm/taverns/R7zPgCIwM1OBbG16Voen?t=3672.14

Regarding the $5 entry fee. I have a different take. 1. every one can invite only 50 people (paid) 2. if the invited user is active after a month, the sign up fee is returned. It's like retroactive rebates.

im all for accessibility. if we're to go back to invite only (i dont think we should) then any funds we spend on inviting friends should be reimbursed. if we're going to ask new people to pay for access and require them to continue to be active on the platform after a month, then the platform has to do a better job at keeping them active (ensuring they and their content is visible, connecting them with interest groups, incentivizing positive actions, etc.)
