The expressionistic painter and graphic artist Magnus Zeller was born in Biesenrode, Germany in 1888. He studied painting in Berlin under Lovis Corinth, and after serving in WWI, he participated in the revolution of the Berlin Worker's and Soldier's Council. The Nazis labeled his work "Entartete Kunst".
