1) My husband gave me Godiva chocolate, so I'm going to write a thread about this logo. Do you know who the naked woman on the horse is?

2)She is Lady Godiva. She is the wife of Earl Leofrick, the lord of Coventley, a British town about 1,000 years ago. Lady Godiva is also the motif of the painting, painted by Jules Joseph Lefebvre and John Collier. Why is the lady riding a horse naked around the town?

3) Lady Godiva repeatedly asked her husband, who imposed heavy taxes on the people of the territory, to reduce taxes. The count, who was tired of arguing, said that she would lower the tax if she rode around town naked on horseback. The next morning, she rode around the city naked on a horse. The people of the territory showed her respect and closed the windows so that they would not see her. Surprised, the count kept his promise and lowered the tax.

4)And in 1926, the chocolate brand, which was born in Brussels, Belgium, was named after the courageous and loving Lady Godiva.

5) As an aside, there was a man who closed the window so that everyone could not see the naked Lady Godiva, but only one person peeked. His name is Tom. This is the origin of the peeping tom.
