so it was screen recording, then recording me voice over, then determining how to the slides, or a freeze frame here, or replace with a screenshot with some information redacted...
but i learned alot

i just used imovie
but need a few features that weren't available... e.g. blurring something on screen but not the entire picture

It doesn't. I have been doing it again too. Avoided it in film school but thank goodness for getting a new computer with adobe premiere pro on it still. It’s so similar to Rush it’s pretty great.
