I was just a kid but already starting to "think for myself" with my 56k modem in my room, spent nights on mIRC, downloading music and sharing files with friends. The world was opening up before my eyes. Metallica had dropped a new album I didn’t care for, but they were about to hit a turning point in my life: they wanted to shut down my gateway to the outside. Fuck you Ulrich one more time. I had a band too (not many other options in Ferrol), and even if I got where that clown Ulrich was coming from, that trial pushed me to pick a side—and I’ve been pro-decentralization ever since. Napster was my personal Siphon Life spell—what’s yours?
