Critics have praised the second season of The Last of Us, awarding it 94% on Rotten Tomatoes and 88 points on Metacritic.

The continuation of the post-apocalyptic saga is called worthy, although with the caveat that the original (or first season) remains unattainable. The new season is praised for its deep drama, well-developed characters with various motivations and vivid personalities, as well as for its visual splendor.

It is noted that the second season is only a link in the chain of the narrative, and not an independent story. At the same time, the series continues to demonstrate the highest level of production: abandoned cities and blood-curdling hordes of the infected are still fascinating.
