I don't know @jacob and @zora team, but I applaud the effort to innovate and try new things. I actually think mediacoin is a great idea. the user experience sucks right now because they're hijacking an existing standard (it wouldn't work without uniswap v4 integration). you only see the mediacoin in zora's UI and warpcast when you cast the contract address (which is just OK). everywhere else, it looks like a coincoin and it doesn't really make sense and feels like a let down. but if you have any ability to imagine the future at all, then you can see a world where a new standard for mediacoin has been set and all (popular) apps show the media (image, video, 3d model, etc.) along with its title and description. the CTAs and some of the language being used around the token are different, perhaps more welcoming to newcomers. let's see what happens and not throw stones at the people who are bravely out here trying new things.

Perhaps my tone isn’t coming off well here, but not trying to throw stones! I just genuinely don’t get it and it seems like many other people agree with me Zora team has consistently not listened to their community and this update seems a tad tone deaf to them

when you don't have product market fit your users' incremental improvement suggestions aren't going to cut it. there are instances where companies have ruthlessly listened to the customer and build based on their feedback and succeeded, but that's far less likely to work in a design space as nascent as ours where *very few* apps have pmf, if any
