For me, it’s more about the overlap of direct monetization & politics; there’s supposed to be separation of powers, and this seems to clearly blur the lines more than before

Reminds me of a test I did once in a group “oMG I can’t believe what I just found out Laura Bush did. She spent 12 grand on a dress and just wore it once at this expensive fundraising gala” (Responses were how bad she was; out of touch, figured, et ) “Oh wait sorry. That was Michelle Obama. My mistake” (Oh well that’s not so bad I mean she probably donated the dress to charity or blah blah)
