Part 9 - Primal Desire: The Struggle for Trost

Jean successfully obtained a set of three-dimensional maneuver gear from a fallen soldier and managed to escape because Annie, Connie, and Marco Bott were able to distract the Titans. As Eren, in Titan form, was carrying a boulder towards the gate, Ian ordered everyone to protect Eren from the Titans at all costs. Eren finally managed to seal the gate with the boulder, and Rico fired a yellow flare to signal their successful operation. When Armin tried to pull Eren out of his Titan body, they were cornered by two approaching Titans, but Levi saved them at the right moment. All remaining Titans in Trost District were defeated, except for two Titans captured for research purposes. Jean, Sasha, and Annie mourned the deaths of their fallen comrades. Meanwhile, Eren was chained in a cell guarded by the Military Police, where he was visited by Levi and Commander Erwin Smith of the Survey Corps.

Part 10 - Can't Look into His Eyes Yet: Eve of the Counterattack

The public opinion is divided on whether Eren is their savior or a threat. Eren is brought to military court to be judged by Commander Dhalis Zachary, who will decide whether he should be handed over to the Military Police or the Survey Corps. Both factions have their reasons for wanting him: the Military Police wants Eren dead, viewing him as a threat, while the Survey Corps aims to use him to reclaim Wall Maria. Amid accusations against Mikasa as a Titan, Eren lashes out, calling the Military Police and their supporters cowards. Levi retaliates brutally but Eren does not transform into a Titan. Levi uses this as evidence that the Survey Corps can control Eren, arguing he should join their ranks. Ultimately, Zachary hands Eren over to the Survey Corps, where Erwin and Hange Zoë receive him. While Eren receives medical care for his injuries, they notice his missing tooth, knocked out by Levi, has regrown.
