What happens when American design gets a Brazilian twist? You get the Chevrolet Opala—a car that ruled the roads in Brazil. Debuting in 1968 at the São Paulo Motor Show, it was the perfect mix of American style and local ingenuity. I wanted to dig a little bit into it's story:

Design and Production The Opala borrowed its looks from the Opel Rekord, a reliable mid-sized car, and the Opel Commodore, a more luxurious sibling. But General Motors do Brasil gave it a unique spin to fit Brazilian roads and tastes. It wasn’t just imported—it was made to belong.
