The reality liberals have to face is this: You can't genuinely think someone is Hitler II, and also not allow even joking about that person's assassination attempt. If you're bothered by the joke, then either: 1. You don't genuinely think the joke victim is Hitler II, or 2. You don't genuinely care that he's Hitler II, or 3. You're anti-violence (but then you're a hypocrite because 200,000 dead Palestinians mattered less to you)

I think nobody believes seriously believes he's Hitler 2, even if they're saying it for the impact it can create in the discourse, that's the truth to it. Let's be real, Hitler designed a method to scientifically mass kill a whole population. There are levels to evilness.

This is the world we live in now. Apologizing and be forgiven is not the norm anymore. Everyone is becoming a stakeholder whether they realise it or not, or want or not. Even the fans, now that the tour got cancelled.
