I think most leftists are post religious or national attachment so I'm not surprised to see that for most Jewish leftists, humanism seems to be the overarching sentiment rather than some sort of nationalistic bias.

Well as a humanist myself it just makes no sense to me. 400+ deaths in Gaza, of which I'm sure 50%-75%+ are innocent, in order to try and secure 59 hostages, of which half at best are still alive. All this after killing 10s of thousands of women and children already. I'm Jewish myself and have visited Israel 3 times, so I should be biased towards the Israeli POV too.
