Hard to overstate how stupid it was to run on conservative policies when leftist policies overwhelmingly won even in deep red states.

I think one fundamental thing leftist are struggling with is to find echo in population for both leftist economical views, and leftist societal views. It's not an america-only issue actually. Every left wing party is struggling with that, even in Europe. People voting for far right parties do want protection from the state. They do want more support, more redistribution. But they don't want more immigration, they don't want DEI, they don't believe gender is a social construct, etc... Leftist are selling the whole package, but right wing allow ppl to cherry pick by just going for the economical measures. (In this screenshot abortion is irrelavant, even Trump is pro-abortion)

Yo this shit died on the ballot here?? My🌶️ take: The republicans will enter a post-racial phase, demonizing leftists, queers and immigrants as the boogeyman while they throw a few bones to the people (that they'll love), and take the entire country in a red wave by leaning slightly left. The Dems will become the new conservative party, leaning into ecofascism, radfem hatemongering, or general woke mob tactics that will devolve into generic class war nationalism in practice. We're seeing a real-time breakdown of the left-right binary and a shift of the overton window to the right by *so much*, we won't even recognize what it lands on next.
