In 1760, when cotton spinning machines were introduced, there was 7,900 workers engaged in the production of cotton. They were outraged and rioted and destroyed 1000 machines before the riot had to be put down by the military. In 1787, there were 320K people involved in the production of cotton a 4400% increase. Tell me why AI will be different.

not being paid for the emergent value of the data you create by going about your normal life is totally different from being enslaved

the 4400% increase in labor was accounting for the British industry and does not include slaves. The increase in demand for the raw materials is a different, though related story. The raw material for ai will be energy and data both things hopefully we can figure out ethically. Unclear what the increase in material demands for robotics will need or come from but we know lithium ion comes from forced labor and demand is still increasing.
