People on Twitter think it’s more important than it is. No technology gets adopted because of twitter. No economies grow because of twitter. No investments are made because of Twitter.

hmm i'd have to disagree with this! lots of deals / hiring / etc. happen directly through twitter; it's a critical lead gen pool for VCs and founders. whether that's good for society or long-term status quo is another story

I don’t disagree this happens but we overindex it. Many many more VC delas happen between founders and VCs who don’t connect on Twitter and maybe don’t even tweet. Same for hiring.

No VC has ever told one of their founders they need to spend more time on Twitter.
