This line from @vitalik.eth's d/acc one year later perfectly captures what I have been thinking over the last few weeks but couldn't articulate it without sounding like a conspiracy theorists. 

"The world is becoming less cooperative. Many powerful actors that before seemed to at least sometimes act on high-minded principles (cosmopolitanism, freedom, common humanity... the list goes on) are now more openly, and aggressively, pursuing personal or tribal self-interest."

The last Trump administration made me seek out Warpcast because I was appalled to see a private company deplatform a prominent public figure. This current administration (US and Honduras) has me seeking out privacy and other lunarpunk style tools and possibilities.
