Why would you build on Farcaster — frames, actions, clients — if Merkle / Warpcast will just clone it if successful?

1. Outside of trading (Coinbase, Uniswap), there's no successful (at-scale, revenue generating) crypto-based business today.

2. The biggest constraint for all crypto app growth is users. There are not enough people using / "in" crypto today. The market needs to expand based on increasing the amount of consumer utility provided.

3. Our goal with Farcaster (and Warpcast) is to get enough scale where developers are able to build meaningful businesses without having to onboard more people to Farcaster and/or crypto themselves.

4. Separately, if your product is really a just a feature of another product, your best bet at building as a business around it is finding the Top 1% power users of said feature and giving them as many bells, whistles and knobs so they are willing to pay you.

5. We actively try to support other Farcaster apps in the ecosystem...

I have been thinking about #2 since my deep dive into onchain metrics in the last OP Retro Round. 

Top DeFi platforms can pull 300K MAUs then it quickly drops to 50K MAUs (pop NFT platforms) and then even more quickly drops to sub-2K MAUs.

Onboarding people needs to be everyone's #1 goal, even if they haven't realized it yet. 

Warpcast is our best wedge.

Yea that's what I mean really. Everyone on boards with their own super powers. 

Some things do exist. Watching @thepark onboard artist via Zora is a work of art itself. But we are not all equipped to onboard artists. Some things still need to be built.

Agree that crypto needs more users but if people focus on onboarding new users ahead of building retentive products, then the onboarding ends up being useless anyways

Curious to know what are the top DeFi crypto platforms with the most DAU/MAU and how Warpcast compares to them

I have been saying this for several months. It's on all of us to grow Farcaster, and there are lots of different ways you can do it. 

Building community, making memes, encouraging others, just making the experience here fun, all of these things are important.

We need great ambassadors that open doors to new communities
