what was his mixed opinion? Was it about Regulation and the App Store or something else? Is he saying that he doesn't believe in crypto but now is the time to be opportunistic about it? 

Highly skeptical of people who use regulation as an excuse for being excited about crypto.

afaik he was more on "crypto is not mature enough" to have consumer apps and instead only focused on speculative mechanisms
