Congrats on @woj.eth & super & Farcaster team! I would like to also remind that last year in Denver social house and Bkk Devcon @tbsocialist during our panel I’ve predicted many things like this. Twitter acquired the indie original mob dev team and bid for TweetDeck for the UberMedia ‘attack’ and killed all its open feature. This is the exact moment when Dorsey start to realize it’s inevitable - Twitter will be super centralized. I was a young kiddo journalist in that mad story of original blue bird app. This is also why we acquired Twidere try to learn from that time; also that’s why we help created official mastodon app as third party. I believe @dwr.eth and team are working hard and delivering. Also have huge respect to @stani.lens on insisting to ‘not own the client’. Question is - how can we (as a whole de-social community) prevent this Twitter tragedy from happening again? An open question. Maybe @vitalik.eth will have some insights.:)

The technology is different this time. But clearly there needs to be a healthy reluctance among users to accept features and in particular data that live in the app layer rather than protocol layer. Otherwise there will inevitably be some app that locks in most of the users, making the decentralized design pointless.
