haha no, and the ironman mentality in Hockey has cost way too many guys way too much over the years. Lindros, Lafontaine, etc etc

Ya true that. But in the modern game there are less fights and head shots, so hopefully less long-term injuries. The point is this type of broken nose would basically never keep an NHL player out of even a playoff game in all likelihood, but the full face shield is kind of the equivalent to what he is wearing.
