Alright tennis friends. What should I do if I usually play doubles but need to start playing singles in the spring? Looking for workout routines, practice schedules, anything!

you'll have more margin for error on returns without a person at the net. You want to work on always just getting them in and get the point going. Again, work on returns deep though. No short balls.

you need to drill on hitting for depth consistently as well as your approach shots. 3.5, right? Keep your opponent on the move left to right, look for that short ball to come in and put away. Singles is going to be way more physically taxing vs. doubles, you're going to want to wear your opponent out.

Topspin forehand. Push your opponent back. when possible, a drop shot. Think 3 shots ahead. As Brad Gilbert says, “you don’t need to be perfect, just better than one person.” If you have access to a ball machine, I find practicing baseline ground strokes moving side to side is helpful and fun. Enjoy!
