I don't get the popularity of this take same with "Bitcoin gave up control to the banks via ETFs" this was always the plan, BTC takes over the world and everyone bends the knee was the community supposed to rally around banning banks and presidents from buying?

it was talked about in the earliest days, if we're to succeed then this phase must happen. the best end result for bitcoin is generational change and integration to "normal" systems as a reminder that innovation can come from the outside i truly think bitcoin was created by a group that had governmental level knowledge, maybe early military LLMs to help plan it out all i know is everything that ppl predicted would happen has happened, even if it's not always in the way we want to see it

have you checked out the Genesis Book? really fascinating dive into the history of cypherpunk culture + different breakthroughs that all ended up leading to Bitcoin: https://www.amazon.com/Genesis-Book-Projects-Inspired-Bitcoin/dp/B0CQLMQRH7 I respect the "Bitcoin is a government operation" angle because it's totally plausible, but after reading through this you can also see the scenario of all these smart people taking cracks at the same problem for years and years and finally someone making it all click I also think the government op angle is an ironic mental crutch for most of us counterculture people where we believe in decentralized money enough to be here, but our brains can't break out of the preprogramming and accept that money without government could've been invented without the government
