what is everyone's problem with memecoins?

honestly i'm in 2 minds about it

most call them scams for obvious reason but then there's pure memecoins like doge which imo is easily a top 5 coin in fundamentals.

most "memecoins" are not that and the whole system from how coins get launched to trading tools is a monopoly/semi-decentralised casino. i see that point but in saying that, there is a lot to learn from memecoin teams in terms of the power of attention in crypto and how simple memes can move markets 

i don't like that the craze is turning away good devs and attracting scammers
