people really believe in the government and dollar so much that they think religions are dying out

religion fundamentally is the human attempt at understanding our connection with the universe 

so why would someone feel threatened by religion?

I don't practice, but it certainly gets my respect more than worshipping man made idols

in my mind they're the same attempt at understanding the world 

religions are more like a business tho and centralised to tenets that are often contradictory. spirituality i see as a continuation, hopefully becoming more science based as technology develops

When religion is weak it often comes as masquerading spirituality to survive and often just wants to sell you stuff!
