4. Ppl are more real offline, h/t @timdaub.eth . Covid gets everyone used to remote working, but nothing beats offline conversation w/ ppl you trust;
5. following 4., there is a gap b/w/ what ppl say online/in public, and what ppl say in private, offline. TLDR: what u see online/social media is just a reflection of truth.
6. Strategy: schedule as many 1 on 1s as possible beforehand, prioritize 1 on 1s and smaller meet ups ( <50 ppl), worked well for me. 4 replies

7. @solana draws lots more new ppl in, an observation w/o judgment.
8. Be careful of grifters and legitimacy arbitragers.
Sadly, ppl don't call out scams and grifters as much online as sharing offline within trusted circles, a big problem today in crypto, twisted incentives. Make sure you don't lose more than you can afford, cut your losses, move on.
9. S.G. is a good place to be during conference season: safe, convenient, can go anywhere w/ 30 min most, while have no worry on safety staying out late by myself.
