regardless of how advanced robots get, i don’t ever see them being capable of replicating the complex interplay of physical and emotional chemistry, intimacy and anticipation — the exchange of wanting and being wanted — that makes sexual desire such a visceral, all-consuming sensation. robots will never compare.

I agree completely. Look up Kangaroo care and the effect skin on skin contact can have on premature babies. There is something magical about being human that robots will never be able to fully replicate.

We can grow skin and put on robots already. So technologically we could create incubators for premature babies that also use the same DNA as the mother & reproduce her scent. I’ve thought about this one A LOT & building a company around mother DNA, breast milk analytics & optimisation of infant health

I find this quite a depressing thought because you are technologically correct. Are you actually building this company now? It’s probably just the human in me but i feel like even with the right technology it will be very difficult to recreate the miracle that is the connection to the mother. I believe there is also something spiritual at play.

Well there are cases where the mother can not connect with the children due to safety concerns like the premie scenario stated above. As we look into. Artificial wombs there is hearsay that this is already being done in some Parts of the world, ethical or not, the reasons for doing such is to solve problems women may have for coming to full term safely. The miracle of life is the fact that a sperm and egg do create life. We are doing this life creation with IVF and it is not taboo anymore, IVF doesn’t make the bond between mother and child any less given the creation was outside the mother then inserted in. There are many thoughts about how much is enough when it comes to mother & baby touch. I’ve had 2 varying degrees with both my girls,my 1st was almost constant & breastfed her until 2. My second was only 1 week and I was back to work full time. The way I see it, it’s less on the child and more on the emotional aspect for the mother.
