about mirrors, I've heard the they polish the glass with silver substance and paint another color on top of it to protect it. 

about batteries, I've studied that they work on ions and cations, the 2 ends of thr batteries are called anode and cathode, the batteries are bipolar(+ &-)

charging is reverse of discharging that is the ions and cation move from cathodic  to anodic region and vice versa (the battery is divided into 2 parts)

also the type of current in battery is DC (direct current) and the one used in households is AC(alternating Current)
