a /streetart cross-over with /unique-vehicles 

Fort William, Scotland

A sculpture created in 2018 by artist Mark Stoddart with Powderhall Bronze, a foundry in Edinburgh.

It celebrates the driving of a Ford Model T up and down Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the United Kingdom, by Henry Alexander Jr in 1911.

Interesting. I did not know there were such high peaks there. I grew up in the mountains and I’m always thinking in terms of altitude.

Also, the model T was not all that powerful and had difficulty in mountains early on

I’ll answer in two ways:

1. The summit is 1,345 metres / 4,413 ft above sea level.

2. When visiting Fort William, Ben Nevis was not one of those “let’s go there for an afternoon walk” places, definitely more serious than that, but it’s also not Mt. Fuji either, so somewhere in between.
