“Mulheres Com Frutas” Releasing tomorrow 7/19 The premiere of my initial physical work on canvas painted at the first ever @rioartresidency 2024 This canvas was originally painted plein air of the houses on the hill directly visible from the pool deck. I like many artists fell into the natural beauty and set out to capture that within minutes of arriving to Villa Alexandrino. I fell out of love with the idea and decided to gesso over this practice canvas to conserve materials and time. That night we went to a Jazz club for dinner. Inspiration struck. The stair case. The depth. Someone from our group said this woman was going to appear in my painting I poured out my imagination. A figure in red with jewelers and a bowl of fruit is walking from down the long staircase and through the street. About to walk through the canvas. While a figure with a yellow fabric dress frolics with a butterfly. I had a great view where I setup
