It’s not obvious yet… but this problem is exactly why I started /seemore Creators just want to create. Unfortunately, they gotta figure out how to make money too so they support their main passion 🫡 https://x.com/david_perell/status/1825569243854962795?s=46&t=kLxAT6M-ysp2m2lKjBOBxg

"We’ve built something worth celebrating in every way, except for the economics of the business." Yikes. Relatable. I'm not familiar with this writer, but I'm familiar with the unsustainable business model dilemma for writing and publishing. The dilemma takes many forms, but the underlying pressures are the same, as you say: "they gotta figure out how to make money too so they support their main passion." Wonder if the world will *ever* figure out how to value writing properly and get the business models worked out so writers can just *write*. It's not looking good, is it? ☹️

i think there is space in free markets for it we just need to separate algorithms from capital accrual by setting content free from legacy platforms (Farcaster helps here)

I like the sound of that. I hope you're right, as I have no love for legacy platforms. But I think it'll also require culture change work, and that's a heavy lift. Writing has been devalued in the public mind, and most people don't have any idea how poorly writers are compensated. I do agree that FC is taking us in the right direction though.
