I know this isn’t exactly what you mean, but I think this is actually achievable through an efficient data market. If everyone has to pay for what they want to know about everyone else, then you could just wake up and do whatever you want. Just by doing so you create value for the rest of the world and yourself

Everyone? My theory is that personal data gives every human on the planet a limitless resource. If there’s a neutral system for materializing that value according to individual preferences, it would be enough to cover basic needs. Maybe more. Sorry to hijack, it was just too similar to what I’ve been thinking…

No worries! It’s not hijacking at all - if I didn’t want conversation I wouldn’t have casted 👀 I think that’s neat and I’d be curious to see how the payers for this sort of data would value an individuals personal data and at what level of fidelity

Yeah, I’m not in love with the data marketplace and economy idea, but I think it needs to be there to unlock the next phase of science and technology. It actually can enable a lot of altruistic behavior. Giving everyone agency in the market and making capitalism actually fair.
