My grandfather cried when he watched me play Assassin’s Creed for the first time in 2007. He said he’d never imagined computers would be able to make something so beautiful and I never forgot that. Everyone here is building the future with magic rocks and I think that’s so fucking cool.

I got that feeling playing Odyssey. I’d pause for a while and just… contemplate the gorgeous scenery. It’s incredible that video games had to fight this hard to reach acceptability after being blamed for so many sins. We’re literally a species of untrammelled world-building gods who made rocks think
