there’s a clear lack of conversation around the channels stuff on farcaster. echo chambers are bad and we do a disservice to farcaster long term if we: - always agree 100% with what @dwr.eth says and does / dont hold people accountable - are afraid to speak out about things, specifically the larger accounts here

Nobody is afraid of Dan's retribution lol it's just a nothingburger - 1 of ? 3 relevant things: 1. No squatting fnames + channels has been Dan's position from Day 1 and he's never wavered in the messaging 2. Channels aren't in the protocol yet and that's also v clear 3. Context matters and this is the context lol

Gotta disagree with your first line, sorry Cameron. I won’t make a blanket statement for anyone else but I’ve been nervous a few time responding to Dan in a way I thought he may not be happy with. It’s why I left for January and part of December.

On multiple occasions he’s said he’s going to start nerfing accounts he thinks aren’t acting honestly: ex spanking likes for likes to try to earn statuses. So it’s definitely something that has given me pause before hitting the cast button.

I've seen that happen too, but the statements seem pretty straightforward to me tbh Earnest question - if you were in charge of a platform like warpcast what would you do differently to combat spammers and other bad actors that clearly make the experience worse for the majority of users?

Weird, never saw this reply. I'd create some kind of algorithm that took into account: -- follower count but followers with X history length and X amount of organic posts -- Organic posts with replies from followers like above -- organic interactions with other posters

Build something that does not rely on "trust me" and "I won't be evil". We are not at the beginning, we are 3 years in now. Don't roll back decentralization except with very short timeline and clear purpose. Understand that majority rules is useful for children and aligned groups. Clear path to separation of powers.
