The biggest benefit I get from AI today is it solves an activation energy problem for me. Helps me over the hurdle of just getting started with something

Depends on the task. I'll dump a bunch of context on something I'm thinking about and let it help me organize those thoughts succinctly. For code problems I let it suggest a list of action items. For data visualization, I drop raw data and look for suggestions on presentation. Then develop a query. For thonk papers that need a solid intro, I give it the context, let it summarize, then I'm able to just take it from there.
