How to make users read your content?

2/ The first thing you need to do is transition from denial to acceptance. Nobody reads your content. Users are just searching for answers relevant to them. What answers? Well, anything from choosing tiles for their bathtub to the simple option of switching off their brain with a story.

3/ People crave stories. Take the tile example; your story begins with the first paragraph. Try sketching out the problem your user is facing. Stand in their shoes and speak their language. Did well? Great, it seems your users are beginning to feel empathy from you and getting down to content. For more.

4/ Again. Move past the denial stage. Accept it. Users, upon encountering your content, don't want to think. They want a ready-made, prepared dish. To cook up content like Michelin-star chefs, you don't need much.

5/ Prepare all the ingredients. Tell the user what to expect by outlining topics as a table of contents. When crafting questions, think like the user. If it's challenging, Google is your friend. Just Google how people formulate their queries and create a table of contents accordingly. Copy like the best!

6/ Turn your content into a voodoo doll. Look at the text like a Netflix series. When attention wanes, poke it, find ways to bring it back.

7/ Among such methods could be:
- unexpected twists
- changing the rhythm of sentences
- introducing new stories or examples
- alternating the structure between black and white.

8/ Sometimes people are struck by honesty. Just imagine, you're talking about how flawlessly your company works, like Swiss watches, and bam, there's one bug you admit to. However, in the next sentence, you refute your own thought. I call this the emotional seesaw of content.

9/ Finally, a bit of math. Your users are more likely to read your content if:
- Sentences don't exceed 8-10 words
- You don't have complex sentences separated by dozens of commas
- Bullet points, periods, dashes: paragraphs.

10/ People want to switch off their brains. Seeing your content, they just want to find answers and satisfy their needs. A visual-graphic system is like road signs. Without them, there would be chaos.
Provide the food and suggest which etiquette to use to consume it. Is it a dessert spoon or a tablespoon?

11/ Always give more than expected.
At the end of your content, leave a pleasant bonus. Perhaps it's another useful article? A video? Just a motivating picture? The final block is like the last sip of wine. The aftertaste is entirely up to you.
