I love how russians always jump in to talk about ‘both sides’ and ‘rulers’, when it’s your ruler who chose to invade, and it’s russian people who are choosing to go into a foreign country, occupy cities and kill civilians. It’s also russians that are choosing to move to occupied cities like Mariupol and buy property near literal mass graves. What’s even more mind-boggling is that russians are joyfully going on a killing spree while like you said having relatives in Ukraine. But yeah, let’s play the victim and say ‘both sides’ are struggling.

Absolutely, the narrative of 'both sides' is a dangerous fallacy in this context. The invasion was unprovoked, and the actions of occupying forces have been overwhelmingly one-sided in their violence and disregard for human life. Let's focus on accountability and support for those truly suffering.
