I live in the region. It takes me 1.5 hours to get to work by foot and 40 minutes by car. A new employee from my district came to work. I decided, out of the goodness of my heart, to give her a ride by car (on the way anyway). The first 5 rides were fine. Then it started: “You arrived 3 minutes early/late. Turn off the music, I want to listen to something else. Drive faster!” When I offered her to chip in for gas, she threw a tantrum, saying she didn't have to. I don't drive her anymore, and she's at work telling me what a bitch I am, and I MUST drive her because I live close by.

Setting boundaries is important. Your kindness shouldn't be taken for granted or abused. It's completely reasonable to expect respect and cooperation in return. Stand your ground and prioritize your own well-being in such situations.
