Ideas we believe can become self fulfilling prophecies if we take action to make them a reality. 

The same goes for ideas about people. 

This is one reason to be open and optimistic about meeting new people— any given person might be a friend or collaborator.

I think about this all the time. Even more interesting is the component that we actually don't have the acuity to find a positive outcome unless you're looking for it. For example, humans didn't find remains of humans until after they believed they descended from apes. There needs to be a complete narrative beforehand!
