Protocols without a token will eventually die. For a protocol to be aligned with its network participants, grow and maintain adoption long-term, there needs to be a way to share value with the network. A token is the best way of doing this.

Of course, token mergers aren't all upside. Aligning incentives, governance, and operations across previously separate ecosystems will be challenging. A perfect place for professional governance participants/delegates to add value.

This is an exciting moment! This is the second token merger I'm aware of (First being Rari Capital and Fei 3 years ago) I think we'll see a lot more token mergers to come. As the space matures, I believe we'll see the development of improved diligence procedures & trusted 3rd-party providers to help investors navigate these challenges (maybe gating access to data based on certain credentials/conditions) Platforms that effectively balance disclosure and transparency will be successful.

Thanks for your comments! You're absolutely right about the challenges of disclosures around pvt assets. Public REITs have brought more transparency to previously private assets, and we see similar trends in other asset classes. Platforms like RallyRd & Masterworks are increasing access by providing more data...

This reminds me of Chris Dixon’s quote “The Next Big thing will start out looking like a toy” A large % of launched memecoins end up obsolete. Some become toys & a select few go beyond Not an easy task to level up from a toy but there’s immense upside for those that pull it off.

Getting my first job after college. Started searching around Dec 2019. Got my first offer in March & was rescinded a week later when lockdown was announced After that, I think I applied to about 1000 jobs. Maybe got 10 interviews & 2 offers Now I’m not affected by rejections which is a good skill as a founder

If you’re a fan of historical stuff, the palaces and temples are a must visit! Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung & Changgyeongung. Also Bongeunsa and Jogyesa Temples Take a trip out to Busan! I enjoyed it a lot and from there you can visit the Beomosa temple (which is a bit farther away but absolutely lovely)
