I love this piece and love the example of rooftstock. One issue that will have to be overcome especially in private assets like real estate is the idea of disclosing information. Public companies are required to disclose everything, private companies are not. Real estate people in particular do not like to disclose.

This is because you release your rent info and your neighboring landlord can become more competitive. Instantaneous loans. Better liquidity. One other thing is diligence. With real estate, you should see the property before making a decision and spend time looking through all the diligence that typical investors do. Either way this piece is great and I’m looking forward to more and more assets coming on chain.

Thanks for your comments! You're absolutely right about the challenges of disclosures around pvt assets. Public REITs have brought more transparency to previously private assets, and we see similar trends in other asset classes. Platforms like RallyRd & Masterworks are increasing access by providing more data...

As the space matures, I believe we'll see the development of improved diligence procedures & trusted 3rd-party providers to help investors navigate these challenges (maybe gating access to data based on certain credentials/conditions) Platforms that effectively balance disclosure and transparency will be successful.
