1. Social Media versus Social Networking We are seeing a massive shift in how we use social platforms. IMO, if Facebook is “Social Media” (showcasing content) then Warpcast is “Social Networking” (building relationships) Social scoring systems are starting to weight your network heavier than the number of “likes.” This tells us that social platforms are continuing their pursuit of quality content and relying on its users to tell them WHO is a quality content creator. Knowing this, we need to be signaling less, and interacting more. (replyguys stay winning)

How to win in “Social Networking”: Infiltrate high signal social circles while simultaneously enlarging yours by offering equally engaging content (this can be humor, wholesome, art, literally anything the target account enjoys.) This is how you make every number go up. Followers, likes, allowance, OpenRank. Now more than ever, it matters WHO is responding to you. Using this knowledge, we need to cater our strategies to appeal to these high signal accounts to directly impact the scoring systems. This does not mean target any account over 20k followers. We need to shift our perspectives so that we can evolve the way we interact with people. Thoughtless interactions will not entice good accounts to follow us back and we don’t have unlimited time. Keep reading if you’d like to know more…

2. Effective time management Whether we call it “social media” or “social networking” there is no denying that it is all TIME CONSUMING. We can, however, optimize our usage. We can tailor our interactions to target specific individuals and use our time wisely. Spraying interactions may FEEL productive, but it is short sighted. Meaningful interactions breed retention. How do we do this?
