Just ordered this book. Not only because I’m pretending like I don’t have more important things to be reading right now (😝) 

But because it tells the story how sophisticated markets, existed for a long time entirely self organised and without relying on state legal systems. Like the global commodities markets in London and Liverpool - what began as informal gatherings might merchants evolved into the institutional frameworks that exist today.
