With just over a week left to go in our Earthlings @commit, the regen efforts keep stacking. Between X and Farcaster, we're seeing our fellow Earthlings show up and show off to document and inspire eco-positive mindfulness. Here are a few highlights from our Farcaster friends. ⤵️

Regen hack #4 - recycling 101 ♻️

If you want to get into recycling but it's overwhelming, start with one simple action:

Find a small tabletop bin for organic waste. 

This can be a jar, a container, just a plastic bag or a proper compost bin. Whatever is the most convenient and pleasant to use for you. 

Start collecting all the food scraps in it, and when it gets full throw them out separately from your regular waste.

Why do this?

- creates a habit of waste sorting 
- your general waste will not be stinky and wet anymore, so you'll have to take it out less frequently 
- gives motivation to look into composting options without pressure

I'll share the options in another cast, in the meantime looking forward to hearing what's your go to with organic waste if you're separating it already 😊

What should we do with old shoes that are damaged or broken and we can’t sell them anymore?

 I found a decision for me! I collect them and take them to the Rendez-VOUS shop for recycling. They will collect the shoes and take them to rubber products plant.

At the plant, the shoes are sorted by material and processed into small crumbs. From the crumbs, make safe rubber surfaces for stadiums, long tracks, courts and playgrounds.

By handing over your shoes, you will reduce the amount of garbage in the city, build a safe playground and make sports more accessible.
