Cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex may get back 120,000 bitcoins stolen in a hacker attack in 2016. In 2017, Bitfinex compensated the victims of the hack by transferring them BitFinex Tokens (BFX) and shares of the company iFinex, which owns the exchange. In this regard, the US authorities have assigned the trading platform the status of the sole victim in the BTC theft case, and it can lay claim to the lost digital assets.
