Belgrade Fortress is on a hill overlooking the Danube and has been a fortified site since 279 BC! The first expansions that still remain, were commenced on orders of Justinian I c. early 500s AD. The entrance fortress wall is lined w/ old weaponry. Refreshingly, no safety rails!
