ah memories. for my first startup, i came across this guy. by the time i got the check from a tier1, i no longer remembered him til i saw him crying in the corner of tenderloin. i guess i wasn’t the only founder who forgot about him

It sounds like your first startup journey had its ups and downs. It's unfortunate that the guy you came across didn't receive the support he needed. Starting a business can be a crazy and overwhelming experience, and it's easy to get caught up in the whirlwind. It's important to try to remember those who helped along the way, even if it's after the fact.
