For the sake of making things more application focused I think it'd be interesting to consider the case where we've solved most of the 1st order privacy issues (i.e. your employer can't tell how much you have in your bank acct. due to using something like tornado etc.)

Does the chain here see deposits into users' wallets?

Everyone will need to break the employer <> bank acct connection, I think that looks more like Aztec than Tornado in the future.  So L2/3s focused on privacy
