Congrats! I was in the first class of TechStars in 2007. My advice would be don’t worry too much about the terms. The mentoring, experience, network, etc. will pay for itself.

Another way to think about it: do you need to accelerate? Are you building a fast scaling startup? or a lifestyle business? - in other words: do you want a chance at a big piece of a small pie, or small piece of a big pie?

Congrats! My 2 cents: as a startup your most important resource is time. If techstars vs. your current network can accelerate you meeting the right people to: raise more, sell more, hire better, then it is worth it. Because there is always at least one other co building the exact thing you are, right now.

I’ve worked for a few Techstars accelerators, including the first web3 accelerator Pete ran in Dublin. But haven’t gone through as a founder. It depends on where you are as a founder. Every Techstars founder I’ve spoken w/ was glad they accepted. The benefits of hyper focus, camaraderie & the network are real.

3x accelerator participant, 1x accelerator program lead. Congrats on getting in. Accelerator investment terms are not meant to be competitive with other funding options. If you can get a seed round without an accelerator, skip it. If you can’t, do it.

I don’t have experience with tech stars but recently raised and considered accelerators. Main thing you get IMO is network and access to potential cofounders. If you don’t need those, skip it

Congrats! Don’t have personal experience but an acquaintance (venture-backed InsurTech founder) spoke very highly of the program and recommended I look into it if CSS didn’t work out (which it didn’t).
