Day 206. Poem/Short Story. I'm not sure if this is a poem or just a short story but I wanted to keep writing. The last poem I wrote was very uncomfortable. I feel like it's cringe. But I like a good challenge. I feel more exposed. I think that is good for me. I feel like this process requires more in depth critical thinking which can also be very advantageous to my visual art. So with all that being said here we go. They took me prisoner When I was 12 I don;t know why I think they wanted to keep me safe It seemed ok They fed me, let me exercise And there was a nice window looking out But they were verbally abusive One day they left the door open I wandered outside It seemed like a nice place But it was bright and noisy So I went back inside The guard asked why I was back "I like my mattress here" I said I went back to my cell And laid on my bed While staring at the ceiling I realized that the guard looked just like me
