it’s especially hard knowing that there’s prominent people who i have / used to have partial ideological overlap with who are now the rapid architects of oppression under the guise of “progress”

I think the point she's making is that many people in crypto are supportive of the current government, which is enacting oppressive policies.

Rereading, yes, she wasn’t saying the crypto policies are oppressive, just that other policies from crypto-supporters are. And to that, I think: Yes, people that support crypto are diverse in their opinions. It’s part of more people supporting crypto. That’s always the case when something grows. Crypto itself has underlying values, and those too have been broadened, but at the core we’re all aligned on some things. And we’ll never be aligned on everything
